Un buon inizio è già metà del lavoro, soprattutto quando si introduce un nuovo strumento digitale in classe o nel team scolastico. Per aiutare le scuole in questo, AI-School ha ampliato notevolmente le possibilità di onboarding. Da ora gli amministratori possono inviare direttamente dall’ambiente di amministrazione un’email di benvenuto ai nuovi dipendenti e studenti. In questo modo sanno subito come effettuare l’accesso e a chi rivolgersi in caso di domande.

Inoltre, ora è possibile impostare un video di onboarding obbligatorio da mostrare al primo accesso degli utenti. Può trattarsi, ad esempio, di un breve video introduttivo in cui viene spiegata la visione della scuola sull’AI, oppure di una spiegazione pratica su come AI-School aiuta nella preparazione delle lezioni. Gli utenti guardano questo video per intero prima di poter iniziare a usare l’app per la prima volta.

L’impostazione è molto semplice. Nell’ambiente di amministrazione vai al riquadro Onboarding. Qui puoi aggiungere un testo e selezionare un video già predisposto in precedenza nella gestione video e contrassegnato come idoneo. Poiché dipendenti e studenti utilizzano l’app in modo diverso, puoi impostare un messaggio di benvenuto e un video distinti per entrambi i gruppi. L’email di benvenuto la invii semplicemente selezionando gli utenti tra i dipendenti o gli studenti e facendo clic sul pulsante email nella barra degli strumenti.

In AI-School, con il pulsante ‘Testo in immagine’ puoi lavorare in modo molto più mirato alla creazione di immagini efficaci per il tuo materiale didattico, le tue spiegazioni o le tue presentazioni. Trovi questo pulsante come secondo pulsante subito sotto il campo di input nella dashboard. Ciò che rende questa funzione particolarmente utile è che non ti limiti a generare un’immagine, ma puoi anche orientarne concretamente il risultato. Inoltre, abbiamo aggiunto Gemini 3.5 Flash all’offerta di modelli linguistici. Questo modello è stato progettato appositamente per la velocità e l’efficienza. È particolarmente adatto per attività in cui serve una risposta immediata, come la generazione di brevi suggerimenti di testo, la traduzione di consegne o la risposta rapida a domande durante la preparazione delle lezioni.

Da ora la creazione di documenti in AI-School è completamente adattata alle esigenze della tua organizzazione scolastica. Hai la possibilità di generare documenti in due modi: tramite inserimento libero oppure con l’aiuto di specifici template scolastici.

Quando scegli Inserimento libero, hai la massima libertà. Sulla base di un prompt, l’AI redige per te un documento, mentre sei tu a definire contenuti e struttura. È l’ideale per documenti unici, per i quali non sei vincolato a un formato fisso.

Inoltre, AI-School ora supporta il lavoro con i Template. Si tratta di formati predefiniti messi a disposizione dalla tua scuola, come modelli per piani di lezione, lettere ai genitori o relazioni. In questo modo hai la certezza che il tuo documento rispetti subito le linee guida vigenti e lo stile grafico della scuola. L’AI compila per te i campi necessari, dopodiché puoi scaricare subito il risultato come file Word modificabile.

AI-School has updated the real-time models for voice chat. Gemini Live has been upgraded to Gemini Live 3.1 and OpenAI Realtime has been upgraded to OpenAI Realtime 2. With this update, voice chat is once again faster, more natural, and more pleasant to use. Conversations feel smoother, spoken questions are processed better, and responses align more closely with the context of the conversation. This is useful when you use AI-School to ask questions out loud, discuss course materials, practice a language, or quickly work out an idea without typing. Voice chat therefore remains an accessible way to work with AI. You do not need to install anything yourself. The new models are available in voice chat.

AI-School has a new feature: Text to audio. It lets you convert text directly into an audio file. That’s useful for scripts, explainer videos, listening materials, read-aloud texts, and language education.

You start from the dashboard via Text to audio below the input field. A larger input field then appears, allowing you to enter longer texts or scripts comfortably. After generating, the audio file appears directly in the chat. You can play it there with the audio player and download it using the download button.

Use the settings button to adjust the speech. You can choose the model, language, and voice, among other things. With the system prompt, you can provide additional instructions for pronunciation, tone, pace, accent, and special terms. For example, you can indicate that the speaker should sound calm and clear, or that terms such as AI-School, ChatGPT, OpenAI, and Gemini may be pronounced with an English pronunciation.

You can save your preferences to your account. AI-School will then remember, among other things, the model, language, voice, and system prompt.

On April 17, the first meeting took place with the steering committee of AI-School. We were warmly welcomed at Griftland College in Soest.

Na het koppelen kan AI-School je helpen om sneller informatie terug te vinden. Ook berichten uit Teams of documenten in SharePoint kunnen eenvoudiger worden doorzocht.

AI-School werkt onder andere samen met Google Agenda, Gmail en Google Drive. Voor Microsoft zijn koppelingen beschikbaar met Teams, Outlook Agenda, Outlook Mail en SharePoint.

Het voordeel hiervan is dat je minder hoeft te zoeken in verschillende systemen. Vanuit één omgeving krijg je sneller overzicht en kun je efficiënter werken.

Het instellen is eenvoudig: ga naar het dashboard, kies de koppeling die je wilt gebruiken en log eenmalig in met je Google- of Microsoft-account.

That may sound like a detail, but it makes a difference. A recognizable environment feels more familiar. It lowers the threshold for using the tool and reinforces the feeling that AI-School is a conscious choice of the board itself, not something generic from outside. The board's logo in the toolbar, the brand colors in buttons, and the environment badge — it makes AI-School a tool that fits your organization.

Not every board has set up the branding yet. Do you still see the default setup of AI-School? Then your board has not yet made use of this.

AI-School now integrates more deeply with European AI providers. Mistral AI, the French AI specialist already used for chat conversations, can now also be utilized for general background tasks. Additionally, the availability of Flux models from the German company Black Forest Labs is new.

Mistral AI can now perform background tasks that AI-School processes automatically: summarizing documents, extracting text from images and PDFs, converting speech to text, and generating embeddings for search functionality. At the top of the settings page, you can choose whether these tasks are performed by OpenAI or Mistral.

The Flux image generation models from Black Forest Labs are a strong European addition — Mistral AI also uses this company for image generation in Le Chat. As an administrator, you maintain control over which AI technology is active in AI-School through the settings. This deeper integration of European models makes us less dependent on non-European providers.

Waarom een desktop app? Met de desktop applicatie kun je onder andere:

  Dit betekent: meer privacy (data verlaat je computer niet) en geen extra API-kosten voor lokale modellen.
• Werken met lokale bestanden
  Bestanden kunnen direct op je computer worden gelezen en opgeslagen. Handig voor het analyseren van documenten zonder upload en voor het maken/organiseren van notities en mappen.
• Lokale koppelingen gebruiken (MCP servers)
  Sommige koppelingen werken via de command line en zijn daarom alleen mogelijk in de desktop app.

Let op: inloggen werkt anders In de desktop app log je in met e-mail + wachtwoord. Gebruik je in de web-versie bijvoorbeeld Google of Microsoft? Stel dan eerst een wachtwoord in via:
Web-versie → Account → Inlogmethodes → Wachtwoord instellen.

April 1st — the day when a good joke in the classroom is worth its weight in gold. But what if you have no idea? AI-School can help you come up with something fun. With the right approach, you'll get funny, creative, and appropriate ideas that perfectly fit your class.

How to ask it right?​

A good prompt makes all the difference. The more context you provide, the better the result. Consider:

• The age of your students — a joke for grade 4 works differently than for a vocational class or a havo-3 class.
• The atmosphere in your class — is it a playful group, or is it more serious in nature?
• The subject or situation — a joke related to a test, a school trip, or a class rule can land particularly well.
• What you do and don't want — indicate whether you want something with a fake prop, a visual joke, a collective action, or something subtle.

Example prompt:

"I am a math teacher for a havo-3 class. The students are 14-15 years old and know me as someone who sometimes makes a joke. Give me five ideas for a fun April Fools' joke in the classroom — funny but not hurtful, without material damage, and without embarrassing the students."

The more specific you are, the better AI-School can suggest something that truly fits your situation.
