Safety and GDPR
Safe AI Use at School
AI-School is a safe learning environment for students, designed with:
- School login options
- Teacher guidance and monitoring
- Compliance with privacy protection legislation
- Option for anonymous accounts without personal data
GDPR Compliance by AI-School
The GDPR requires educational institutions to carefully process personal data and protect student privacy. AI-School complies with the GDPR by:
- Closing a processing agreement with schools, detailing the processing of personal data.
- Using the model agreement from the Education Privacy Covenant as the basis for the processing agreement.
- Sending chat messages to sub-processors who have agreements to process information confidentially and in compliance with GDPR.
- Not processing sensitive personal data, except when entered by school staff or students, in which case schools must provide clear instructions to discourage this.
Supervision and Content Filters
Chat History: Teachers have access to the full student chat history upon request.
Lesson Monitoring: Teachers can start lessons and monitor students during the lesson if desired.
Content Filters: The AI models have powerful content filters that do not answer risky and sensitive questions.
In "History Insight" you can read more about the possible supervision settings.
Logging in with School Account
We link AI-School with Microsoft or Google to enable secure login with your school account. The school must grant permission to use our Microsoft application, or can submit its own Microsoft application to link.
The link checks whether the email address is registered within the AI-School application. This prevents non-registered email addresses from using the school environment.
