Internet Search
The Internet Search tool (internet_search) enables the AI to search for current information on the internet. This is essential for questions about recent events, current news, or information not in the model's training data.
How It Works
When you ask a question that requires current information, the AI automatically performs a search query. The results are analyzed and processed into a coherent answer with source citations.
Usage Examples
- "What's the latest news about climate change?"
- "Who won the Champions League this year?"
- "What are the current opening hours of the Rijksmuseum?"
- "How many inhabitants does the Netherlands currently have?"

Search Types
The system offers different ways to retrieve information:
- Search: General web searches for textual information
- Videos: Search for videos and multimedia content
- News: Specifically search for news articles
The most suitable search type is automatically selected based on your question.
Serper Integration
Search queries are executed via Serper, a professional search engine service provider that selects the most relevant results. These results are then integrated into the answer.
Source Citations
Answers based on internet sources include citations, so you can verify the information.
Native Alternatives
For better integration, native search tools are also available:
- Web Search (OpenAI) - For OpenAI models
- Web Search (Claude) - For Anthropic models
These native tools are automatically used when you select the corresponding model.
