Google Drive
The Google Drive integration gives the AI assistant in AI-School read access to your files in Google Drive. This lets you search for documents, have their contents read, and summarize them. The integration cannot create, modify, move, or delete files.
Requirements
- Your administrator has enabled Google Workspace in the admin environment, via Tools → MCP → Suite shortcuts.
- Your organization uses a custom Google app.
- You are allowed to use integrations in your environment.
- You have a Google account with access to the files you want to use, for example your school account.
- You choose an available AI model that can use tools. The integration is not limited to OpenAI.

Getting started with Google Drive
- Open your profile menu and go to Preferences.
- Under Tool settings → Integrations, in Provided by your organization, turn on the switch for Google Drive.
- Sign in with your Google account and grant read access to Drive.
- Start a chat and ask your question. Google Drive is now available by default in your chats.
You can also click Google Drive in the Tools block on the dashboard. If needed, you will then sign in to Google and a chat with this integration will start immediately.
Privacy and security
The Google Drive integration only requests read access:
- ✅ Search and read files that your Google account has access to
- ✅ Read metadata (name, date, owner)
- ❌ No uploading or creating files
- ❌ No modifying or deleting files
Access tokens are encrypted and stored server-side only. If you turn off the last Google integration in Preferences, the connection to your Google account will be revoked. You can also revoke access via Google Account Security.

Long files are truncated.
